Thanksgiving for unanswered prayers
Almost every human being prays according to his/her temperaments and needs. The question is, does every prayer work the way we think it should be? I am wondering how every prayer can work the way we think it should be! How does God answer farmers’ prayers against conflicting weather; how does God answer the prayers of soldiers in a war front? How does God answer the prayers of football players and their fans for victory? In Genesis 1:28, God says “Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth.” This is the source of our power. We have used it well especially in our scientific and technological drives. On the other hand, we need to reflect on how the genuine use of this same power is dissipating daily through wars, genocidal activities, deforestation, abortion, terrorism, unjust political systems, siphoning and hoarding of public funds and so forth. What would have happened if God had given us the supernatural powers to make all prayers to be answered? One of my very intelligent friend, prayed that God should take away his intellect because it made him to be too critical against faith matters but at the end it was his intelligence that helped him during his traumatic situations.
Prayer: “Just because he doesn’t answer doesn’t mean he don’t care. Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.” May God assist us to revere His supernatural powers and His will for us always. Amen.
