The effects of evil that manifest as sin in our relationship with the self, others and God, made Jesus to offer His Sermon on the Mount with the beatitude: “Blessed are the pure in Heart, they shall see God” (Matt. 5:8). The core of our religion is Love and love requires the inner disposition of giving oneself to others. Unfortunately, our inner attitudes and states are the real sources of our problems for not agreeing to submit ourselves to the vocation of love. Therefore, we need to root out the problem at that deepest interior level.  Now almost all the difficulties and wounds we experience in our spiritual life are rooted in sin. The effects of sin are fear, shame, guilt and sometimes hopelessness, meaninglessness and helplessness.

The good news is that the cure for sin is the “Yes” of Our Mother Mary (Luke 1:38). The “Yes” that countered the “No” of Eve (Gen. 3:6). We can continue to draw strength and focus from the “Yes” of Our Mother by picking up our Rosary to do two things. First to learn to respond like her when we say “Hail Mary full of Grace” (Luke 1:28) and we can get the opportunity to ponder in our hearts just like Our Mother, the mysteries of salvation which are therapeutic in nature (Luke 2:19). Secondly, by praying the Rosary we walk through every stage of Jesus’ life and we make a serious connection with His love mission. So, the Rosary is a faith clinic for healing all hearts who humbly submit to the Persons of Jesus and Mary. I pray we heed the call to pray the Rosary, mindful of our need for personal purification and sanctification. Amen.
