Early Christianity suffered the attacks of heretics and their heresies. However, such heresies never saw the light of the day. History they say keeps repeating itself and so many of us have not learned from the mistakes of the past and we are still preoccupied with faith based on questioning almost everything not for the sake of knowledge but to boost our ego. Nowadays, we still have heretics and their heresies in the Church. Many Christians and worse still Catholics have become too knowledgeable now that they question almost everything that concerns the faith. Many virtues like blind obedience, humility, and innocence have become “old school.” Heresies are departure from the traditional Christian beliefs; the creation of new ideas, rituals and forms of worship within the Christian church. Heretics and their heresies contradict the authenticity of the omniscience of God, His Christ and His Holy Spirit. Heresies are signs of defective psychological and spiritual traumatization of Christians. They are signs of mental distortion and when they are not handled accordingly, they end up affecting our triple relationships – relationship with the self, others and God.

According to St. Louis-Marie de Montfort, “It was only in the year 1214, however, that the Church received the Rosary in its present form and according to the method we use today. It was given to the Church by St. Dominic, who had received it from the Blessed Virgin as a means of converting the Albigensians (heretics) and other sinners.”

Nice reflection on the Rosary. May God give us the grace to always be faithful to the prayer of the Rosary. AMEN
