“Be filled with the Spirit . . . always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father.  – Eph. 5:18-20

Rev. Fr. John-Mary Benedict Ntol Atep
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God has done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
Dear friends in Christ, as we progress in our novena to the Holy Spirit and the appeal for gifts, charisms and fruit of the Holy Spirit, we need to ask God through the Blessed Virgin Mary for a spirit-filled life. To live a spirit-filled life is to live a life that proclaims daily: "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts" (Zech. 4:6).

“Be filled with the Spirit" means a life of gratitude, a life of thankfulness. Sometimes we are quick to focus on our minds, issues that trouble us and they are usually few but we forget the majority that makes us joyful, happy and fulfilled. For example: God, Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Bible, the Sacraments, devotions, family and ourselves. Others are our teachers, friends, our achievements, and those who care for our well-being, food and drinks that support our lives and so on.
During our novena to the Spirit, say uncountable times "Thank you Holy Spirit." More so, pick up our pen and book (gratitude journal) and daily write a list of things which you are grateful for. Things we ought to be grateful for are too numerous. But sometimes we feel that life is unfair to us and we forget the immediate things to be grateful for like the air we breathe. We do not need to wait and start gasping for breath or to be in an Intensive Care Unit before we can start thanking the Holy Spirit for all His goodness. The word "spirit" comes from the Latin spiritus, meaning breath. At least let us thank the Holy Spirit for the gift of His breath to us. Meanwhile breath is the principle of life. Note: The Holy Spirit inspires us but our gratitude to Him releases His love and engages His presence in us for more actions. Try it!

Friends of the Holy Spirit: ARE YOU LIVING A THANKFUL LIFE? HAVE YOU BEEN THANKFUL TO THE HOLY SPIRIT? DO YOU TAKE TIME TO THANK GOD AND YOUR PARENTS AND OTHERS FOR THE MANY KINDNESSES THEY HAVE SHOWN YOU?
TODAY COMPOSE A LITANY OF GRATITUDE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

PLEASE SAY A PRAYER OF CONSECRATION TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Composition of a litany of gratitude to the Holy Spirit!; what a wonderful idea. Thank you very much Father. And as we become more conscious of His uncountable blessings, may we like the Apostles in the company of our Lady, continue to enjoy His loving inspirations for greater service to & in partnership with Him.
