OCTOBER DEVOTION – DAY – 10 – THE HOLY ROSARY – FOR PRIESTS (REV. FR. KENNETH OGONNA AGWU)
“No one takes this honour on himself; it needs a call from God, as in Aaron’s case. And so it was not Christ who gave himself the glory of becoming high priest, but the one who said to him: You are my Son, today I have fathered you, and in another text: You are a priest forever, of the order of Melchizedek” (Heb. 5:4-6). Sacred Scripture is very clear about the gift of the priesthood of Christ to us!
The vocations that are meant to elongate our lives on earth and hereafter are seriously under attack – Marriage and the Priesthood. The Holy Rosary is a special weapon that has been employed over the centuries to form and protect priests. Therefore, let us pray the Holy Rosary for the protection and sustainability of the ministerial priesthood in the Catholic Church. I present to us as a point of contact for all the priests of God, THE REVEREND FATHER KENNETH OGONNA AGWU who celebrates his gift of life as he celebrates his birthday today.
REVEREND FATHER KENNETH OGONNA AGWU is a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Nigeria. An excellent scribe, great chronicler and Journalist of great repute. He is a man of God that is endowed with numerous qualities such as love of Jesus Christ (He is a special friend of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament), humility/simplicity, great reverence for the Blessed Mother of God, a fearless preacher, an accurate historian, openness to learning, availability and accessibility to people of all walks of life, intelligence, voracious reading, prolific writing, generosity in giving and accepting, high sense of respect for things of the sacred, a lover of books and an empathic personality. To be honest the list is very long but for the sake of prayers for him please do with what has been presented. Pray the Rosary today for all priests to keep sustaining their AMBASSODORIAL CAPACITY as they represent Christ Jesus on earth. May Our Lady of the Holy Rosary continue to bless REVEREND FATHER KENNETH OGONNA AGWU through her maternal offices: Virgin, Mother and Queen. Amen.
