A PROFILE OF REVEREND FATHER JOHN-MARY BENEDICT NTOL ATEP

Reverend Father John-Mary Benedict Ntol Atep is a Priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Nigeria. He is also a Psycho-spiritual therapist, Spiritual Director, Counsellor, Teacher, Promoter of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Tenets of the Spiritual Life.  He was born on the 27th of November 1972 to the noble family of Mr. Christopher Ekum Atep and Mrs. Justina Nkanum-Nkor Atep at Abankang in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River state, Nigeria. He is a native of Edor town of Ikom L.G.A. Cross River State, Nigeria.

He is indebted to the Blessed Trinity for giving him the grace to be a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The devotion to Mary has improved the quality of his life in following Christ and living the spiritual life. He is equally grateful to a number of personalities that have contributed in shaping his life and destiny, including His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan; His Lordship Anselm Umoren, MSP; his parents, Mr. Christopher Atep and late Mrs. Justina Atep; Chief Edwin Cyprian Atep (uncle); Rev. Fr. Monk James-Mary Adole, O.C.S.O; Msgr. Michael Sunday Sasa, and Rev. Fr. George Omaku Ehusani. Others are Mr. Benjamin-Mary Ameh, mni and Mr. Kenneth-Mary Igweshi, just to name a few.

His hobbies include reading; writing; giving talks and retreats; listening to people; visiting people and making friends; listening to music, farming and gardening; empowering the poor, the sick, the aged and the less privileged. The priesthood for him is an ample medium of touching lives!

May God bless the ministry of His Word and Sacraments to which he has been called and of which he is an ardent promoter and may He grant him the courage and the graces to keep sharing His presence and mighty works through His Word, the Sacraments, psycho-spiritual therapy and counselling, spiritual direction and other services. Amen. May God who has called him grant him the grace to run the race and persevere to the end. Amen.
